Heartfelt Thanks and Feedback Request for STARS Program

 Hey STARS,

STARS  Program has finished for the season!—kind of like life, right? We had many seniors join us for some fun in the snow, and I’m happy to report that everyone had an absolute blast. Plus, we gained 30 new seniors who, based on their feedback, are now convinced that we’re not just instructors, but actual magicians. Seriously, they were that impressed with the program.

A huge shoutout to every Senior who’s dedicated their time and energy to the season’s activities. You guys are the heart and soul of these weekly shenanigans at Mountain High. Your passion is like the caffeine that keeps this program going. I mean, you’ve been with us since the very start of the season—showing up week after week like true snow warriors. Your loyalty and enthusiasm are truly inspiring.

As we are wrapping up 16 glorious years of the program, I’ve been doing a little reflecting (don’t worry, no deep thoughts, just a quick pat on the back). From where I stand, it’s been a fantastic ride, and we’re planning on making next year even better—if that’s possible. But here’s the deal: I need YOUR feedback. Please shoot me an email with one thing you think we absolutely *crushed* (Positive) and one thing that could use a little TLC (Improvement). Your thoughts will help us make next year’s program so amazing that even our skis or snowboards will be jealous.

Now, I have to give a massive thank you to our instructors who’ve been absolutely *rockstars* this season. These guys (and gals) have been juggling changes and challenges like pros—seriously, they might as well be in a circus. I’m lucky to work with such a stellar team every Wednesday. Huge thanks to Chris, Allan, Richard, Mike, Pat, David, Brenda, Linda, Shane, Vitaliy, and Greg, You guys make magic happen.

Let’s not forget the incredible management team who’s been backing this program for 16 years. Without you, we’d just be a bunch of seniors on skis and snowboards with no direction. A big thank you to Karl, Michele, John, and Ben for always keeping the lights on (literally and figuratively).

And finally, let’s give a well-deserved round of applause to Caleb Lee, our Winter Sports Center Director. Caleb’s been working behind the scenes like the wizard he is, making sure our WSC is top-notch and supporting the STARS Program in ways that deserve a standing ovation.

Until we meet again on January 7, 2026, when we’ll all pretend to remember how to ski and snowboard after a long break...

Ski u later!

Thanks STARS For A Great 16th Season

Hey STARS,

We hate to break it to you, but due to very low reservations for the STARS Program on March 26, 2025, we’re going to have to cancel the clinic. If you’ve already snagged tickets and lessons, don't worry—you’ll get your refund in about a week. Think of it as a surprise gift that’s a little delayed.

As we wrap up our 16th season (yep, 16—where did the time go?), we want to send a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year another epic one for the Senior Program STARS. You guys rock!

And don’t worry, we’ll be back with all the snow, fun, and epic moments you can handle when we kick off our 17th season on January 7, 2026. So, mark your calendars and get ready to shred!

Ski u in January,

Bill

Remiinder STARS Clinic 3/26/25

 Hello STARS,

I hope this message finds you enjoying the calm before the snowstorm! Just a little reminder that our 8th Senior STARS Program Clinic is coming up on **Wednesday, March 26th** at the West Resort. Since January 15th, we've been working tirelessly to make sure your safety, fun, and turn-making skills are top-notch, and we’re thrilled to keep the momentum going!

A quick announcement: if you haven’t yet purchased your lesson, please do so by **Monday**. You don’t want to be the one left out in the snow—literally.

We’ve had a little taste of spring lately, but don’t worry—Mother Nature has a great sense of humor, and she’s promised us some deliciously smooth corduroy for Wednesday morning. Perfect conditions for skiing and riding!

And while you're out there shredding it, make sure to swing by our retail store inside the Big Pines Lodge. Soft goods are on sale, which means it’s time to treat yourself (and maybe the family, too) to some sweet deals. You deserve it!

Speaking of treats, during the luncheon, Richard Kim was on a photo-taking spree and captured some fabulous moments. Some lucky Seniors even scored prizes in a drawing! You can relive the magic and check out all the photos on the STARS blog right here:

Can’t wait to see you all on Wednesday—bring your A-game and your best snow dance!

Ski you soon,

Bill

Thank You STARS

 Hey STARS!

What a *fantastic* day we had at the 7th Senior STARS Clinic! The sun was shining, the snow was perfect, and 47 Seniors showed up to prove that age is just a number when you’re carving up the slopes. Honestly, I think even the mountains were showing off for us.

The conditions were so good, the upper mountain felt like a playground for skiers and snowboarders alike. And let’s just say, after burning those calories, we were *all* ready for the delicious lunch at noon (thanks to Mike, April, and Aaron from the Food and Beverage Department!). It was a delicious way to celebrate the season, with 60 of us devouring food and laughter like it was our job.

Big shoutout to Michele Roy, VP and CFO for the season pass and 8-hour lift tickets, and Caleb Lee, Director of Ski School for the private lesson and STARS lessons! You two are rockstars, seriously. I’d name more heroes, but then we’d run out of space in this email!

Can you believe it's our 16th year of the program? And guess what? We’ve consistently had around 50 Seniors each week. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a record-breaking squad to me!

We also welcomed a few new Seniors into the STARS family today, and I made sure our instructors gave them the VIP treatment on the slopes. Spoiler alert: they totally nailed it!

A HUGE thank you to all the STARS and instructors for making this season another win. I’m lucky to be part of this amazing crew. Also, a special shoutout to Rico Hall for the thoughtful gifts—you’re the real MVP.

STARS Program Monday Update for Wednesday, March 19th

 Good Afternoon, STARS!

Here's your Monday update for the STARS Program happening this Wednesday, March 19th, at the West Resort.

We’re looking at 36-43 inches of snow on the mountain—basically a snow lover’s dream. Plus, we got 1-3 inches on Friday, so prepare for some epic skiing and snowboarding. Remember: "Perfect practice makes perfect," but don’t stress if your turns aren’t *perfect*… yet.

The forecast is sunny with low 50’s temperatures, which means we’re in for a bluebird day and our 7th clinic of the season. Yes, you read that right—7th! Time flies when you’re having fun (and skiing and riding your heart out).

**Important Changes for Lift Tickets and Rentals:**
For lift tickets, head to the Kiosk by the main ticket office and scan your barcode. For rentals, swing by ticket windows #8 or #9 to grab your rental voucher. Easy peasy!

Oh, and if you show up for a clinic and haven't received your QR Code yet, no worries! Just swing by the main ticket window and they’ll sort you out with your lift ticket.

**STARS Luncheon Details:**
Come join us for the STARS Luncheon at 11:45 AM on Wednesday, March 19th. It's $12 (cash or card) to attend, and trust me, the raffle prizes are *so* worth it. Don’t forget to pay online by today using this link: http://www.mthigh.com/seniors

Looking forward to seeing you all there—let’s make it another unforgettable day on the slopes!

Reminder STARS Clinic & Luncheon 3/19

Hey Senior STARS,

Just a friendly reminder that our 7th Clinic of the Senior STARS Program is coming up this Wednesday, March 19th, at the West Resort.

We’ve got 36-43 inches of snow, and conditions are **epic**, thanks to a generous 18-20 inches of snow this past week. The slopes are looking great, so make sure you dress for the cold! Road conditions should be fine, but **better safe than sorry**—carry chains just in case, because you never know when Mother Nature will throw in a little surprise.

While you're here, swing by our retail store inside the Big Pines Lodge, where soft goods are already on sale! You and your family can snag up to **25% off**—it’s like a secret Santa gift, but for you. Don't miss out, or you'll be kicking yourself all the way down the slopes.

**Lift Tickets and Rentals Update:**
Heads up! The Reservation Center and Rentals by the Bullwheel Grill will be closed next week (yep, no bull). After purchasing your lift ticket online, head to the kiosk by the main ticket office, scan your barcode, and **voila**—instant lift ticket! If you need rentals, go to the main ticket window to get your rental voucher. Easy peasy, right?

We’re hoping all Senior STARS who’ve been with us this season will join us this Wednesday, March 19th, for a **$12 Mexican lunch** (cash or credit card). Let’s get together and celebrate 16 amazing years of Senior STARS! I’ve also got some fun gifts to give out during the luncheon—who doesn’t love free stuff? Please RSVP for lunch by Sunday so I can give Food and Beverage an accurate headcount. Don't leave me hanging!

**Oh, and a little bonus:** Sports LTD in Woodland Hills is having an **end-of-season sale** with up to 25% off! If you’re in the market for skis or boots, now’s the time to buy. You’ll also get a **great discount** on Atomic products, so you can feel like a pro on the slopes. (Don’t worry, you’ll still look awesome even if you’re not a pro.)

P.S.  Our last clinic is 3/26/25

Can’t wait to see you all Wednesday!

Ski you soon,
Bill

SAD News

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Dave Bruce, who left us Thursday morning. Dave was a dedicated ski instructor for the Senior Program  STARS, and his passion for teaching and commitment to the Senior community left a lasting impact. He touched the lives of so many with his patience, kindness, and expertise. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of learning from him. Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew him during this difficult time.

Thank YOU STARS

 Hey STARS! 🌟

What a day to be a Senior skier/rider, huh? Our 6th STARS Clinic of the season saw 27 brave souls tackling the cold, gloomy weather and 28-33 inches of fresh snow at Mountain High. Talk about a *snowy* adventure! ❄️

We welcomed a few new Seniors into the program, exchanged some inspiring words (or maybe just a few "good luck!"s), and then it was time to hit the slopes! Despite the wintery conditions, the smiles were still in full force, and everyone seemed to have an absolute blast skiing and riding. Who knew snowflakes coming could bring so much joy? ⛷️🎿

Evaluation: Glow & Grow

We'd love to hear your feedback! What's something we're doing so well it deserves a gold star? And is there anything we could improve (be nice, we’re fragile)? Your thoughts are like snowflakes—unique and appreciated! ❄️

Our next clinic is on March 19th, and yes, you’ll get a friendly reminder on Friday night (because we love you and don't want you to forget). Also, check out our epic group photo below! 📸

Don’t forget, we’ve got the **STARS Luncheon** coming up on **Wednesday, March 19th** at 11:45 am at the Bullwheel Grill! We're serving up a Mexican-themed buffet (cue the guacamole) and a drink, all for just $12 (cash or credit card accepted, because who carries cash anymore?). We'll also have a drawing for some special gifts... will you be the lucky one? 🥳

Please RSVP by Sunday so we can tell the food folks how many tacos to make. Trust me, they’ll thank you. 🌮

Oh, and if you show up for a clinic and haven't received your QR Code yet, no worries! Just swing by the main ticket window and they’ll sort you out with your lift ticket.

Enjoy the rest of the week! Don’t forget to purchase your lesson by **Monday, March 10th** (that’s a *definitely not a suggestion* reminder).
