STARS RSVP UPDATE

Good Morning STARS: 

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!!

This is just a reminder for our Seniors STARS Program Wednesday, January 9th at 9:00 am at the West Resort. Please purchase your lift ticket and your lesson before 8:45 am so you can meet your instructor in the Big Pines Lodge at 9:00 am.

Our snowmakers were hard at work last night! 48-hours of non-stop snowmaking has given us 6" of fresh snow and it's still going strong! Coverage is good with a 10-22" base of fresh machine groomed packed pow. New trails today include Borderline, Wyatt, and The Wedge. Up to 7 lifts operating and 8 trails, we will continue to make snow as weather permits.

Remember we have an online registration process so you will never have to stand in another line again to purchase your lesson or lift ticket.

YOU MUST FIRST GO TO THE VIP WINDOW AT THE WEST RESORT on the day of the clinic to begin the process. After you have shown your ID you will be given an Express Pass /Quick E Ticket ($5.00 charge) to be used at the next clinics. After this initial set up at the ticket window, you will be able to purchase your lesson, lift ticket from your own computer at home.

 All seniors who have an Express /Quick E Ticket already and were previously registered DO NOT NEED TO COME TO A TICKET WINDOW. You can purchase the first lesson online. You do not need to buy another Express Card/Quick E ticket. Online purchase process will be active one week before each clinic.

STARS Update

Hi STARS:

All of you should be getting ready for January 9, 2019 for our first Senior STARS Clinic of the season. Can you believe it, it will be our 10^thyear for the STARS program.

The instructors and I can’t wait to get started as this season should be the BEST we have seen in 10 years for snow. 

Mt High opened last Tuesday and we have 14-18 inches of snow at the mountain and it is still snowing! It looks like we could receive 3-5 inches of new snow from this storm.  

Don’t forget your skis/snowboards tuned and waxed so you will be ready to go this ski season. If you need any equipment for this season, please give Steve Crane a call, at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know I sent you and you are in the STARS Program at Mountain High. I know he will take care of you.

STARS Update

Hello STARS: 

Are you enjoying this weather? I hope so, enjoy it while you can but in a week, you might be back on the slopes enjoying the cold weather with great snow at Mountain High.

There is a good possibility we might be open November 23^rd.or 24^th. Weather pattern is setting up so it looks really good for making snow and we might get some natural snow too.

Just got back from Mammoth attending a ski clinic about working with Senior skiers and snowboarders and I shared all about our great program (STARS) here at Mountain High. Ski Schools from Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas asked about our STARS Program and I was happy to share about our successes.

So, make sure you are getting ready for the season as January 9, 2019 is just around the corner for our 1^st clinic of the season.

Welcome Back STARS 10th Season

Welcome Back STARS!!

Just a note to let you know it is getting that time of the year to pull out your skis/snowboard and get them tuned for the upcoming season. We are all looking forward to the Senior Program STARS beginning its 10th year!!

Mt High will be ready to open in 8 weeks but we need to let Mother Nature take its course. Look for mid-late November or so for the mountain to open. This will be a great snow season and I know you will have lots of fun in the STARS Program; I will guarantee it!

All us here at Mt High are anxious for the season to begin! Please get the word out about our STARS program. All of you are our BEST ambassadors, so make contact with your friends so they can enjoy sliding at Mountain High this season. 

Please mark your calendars for January 9, 2019 for the first day of our STARS clinics.

STARS Update!

HI STARS:

After 3 feet of snow these past few days it looks like we will have a great time on Wednesday. Conditions are perfect with packed powder and no crowds. And if you believe that..I have some beach front property in Banning you can purchase. Early April Fools!! Just wanted to end our STARS Program on a happy note.

Yes, we will NOT be having a STARS Program on Wednesday due to the lack of snow. Just wanted to thank all you Seniors and of course our Instructors, on making the 5 clinics we had this season the BEST! 

We end our 9th year and now the guarantee for next season. We will be at East with plenty of snow for most of our 12 clinics. 

Have a great summer and remember , "It doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be fast. Just keep skiing and have a good time!”

Reminder STARS Clinic 3-21-16

Good Afternoon STARS:

Just a reminder of our Senior Clinic on Wednesday, March 21st at the WEST RESORT!! Don’t forget we will be inside at the Big Pines Lodge at 8:00 am for sign in. 

Well received 5-6 inches of FRESH Snow yesterday and the mountain is completely white. (See photo) Looks like this Wednesday should be a special as we expect to receive some more snow too.

Please RSVP as soon as possible so I can have enough instructors to meet your needs.

There will NOT be online purchase of your lesson or lift ticket this week for STARS. Make sure you get to the ticket window by 8:00 am to purchase your lift ticket and lesson.

STARS, Wednesday, March 14th Cancelled

Hi STARS:

Just want to let you know that our next STARS Clinic, Wednesday, March 14th will be cancelled due to snow conditions not the BEST for you Seniors. This does not mean the end of the season but a temporary hold on our program till we receive more natural snow starting Thursday through Saturday.

I want to THANK each and every Senior who participated this season and your commitment does not go unnoticed by the instructors and me too. You are why we do this each week here at Mountain High. Most of you have been with us since the beginning, February 2010. 

We have almost completed 9 years of the program and from our eyes it has been a fantastic program and we want to make it even better next year. Please take a minute and email me one thing we can glow on (Positive) and one thing we can grow on (Improve). This will help us develop the necessary goals for next year’s program. Your input is so valuable, without it we cannot build the program.

I would like to personally thank the instructors who have been incredible this season dealing with all the changes we have had to endure to make this program work. This TEAM is OUTSTANDING and a pleasure to work alongside each and every Wednesday. Without their commitment we could not meet the individual needs for you Seniors. Thanks.. Ron, Allan, Mike, George D., George M. Larry H, Brenda, Greg and Antonio.

I also want to thank Anne, Tracy, Damaris, and Katie for their continued support behind the scenes to make our program the BEST! Thanks!

Our STARS Program would not have been possible without the complete support of management. In the past nine years, they have provided resources in making the STARS Program successful. Thanks Karl, Michele, John, and Ben.

Last but not least I want to thank Blaine Lomen, our Winter Sports School Director who works tirelessly making our WSS the BEST. He has given his total support behind the STARS Program and all of us really appreciate it.

Hopefully by the end of the week I can bring you GREAT news that we will have the snow conditions warranted to have our next STARS clinic on March 21^st!

Reminder STARS Clinic - 3-14-18

Hi STARS:

Just a reminder for our 6th Clinic of the Senior STARS Program on Wednesday, March 14^th at the West Resort.  We have had a great time these past 2 months making sure you are safe, having fun and that have you learned to make better turns.  We want YOU to have a great time this Wednesday too, so make sure you RSVP by Tuesday.

It has been warm up here this week but we expect a cooling pattern to begin on Monday so we will hopefully have good snow on your next Senior STARS Clinic.

Thank You STARS 3-7-18

Hi STARS: Congrats on a great day at the 5th STARS Clinic of the season. It was cooler then expected which kept the snow firm but lots of fun! 31 Seniors took part in the clinic today and I saw plenty of smiles throughout the mountain.

We welcomed 3 NEW STARS to our program today and all of them shared with me they had a great time.
