Hi STARS:

Well it is time again to get our Senior Program STARS going for 2015!!  We would like to officially "Welcome" you to the Mountain High Seniors Ski/Snowboard program (STARS). We are looking forwarding in adding many NEW Seniors this year to our STARS program.

We will begin the Senior Program on January 7, 2015. We will determine by January 3nd if we are at the East or West Resort. Mother nature and our snowmakers have given us a great start on our Ski and Snowboard season. We have lots of snow to have a great time! If you have any questions about the program you can go to http://seniorprogramstars.blogspot.com/
or contact me.

Remember we have online registration process. This way you will never have to get in another line again to purchase your lesson or lift ticket.
But YOU MUST FIRST GO TO THE VIP WINDOW AT THE RESORT on the day of the clinic to begin the process. After you have shown your ID you will be given an Express Pass ($5.00 charge) to be used at the next clinics. After this initial set up at the ticket window you will be able to purchase your lesson, lift ticket and rentals from your own computer at home. For more information on our online program, please paste this URL in your browser.

All seniors who have an Express Card already & were previously registered DO NOT NEED TO COME TO A TICKET WINDOW. You can purchase the first lesson online. You do not need to buy another Express Card. Online purchase process will be active one week before each clinic.

Just remember our program offerings are every Wednesday at 9:00 am at Mountain High beginning on January 7, 2015. We will begin with introductory comments, an indoor clinic and then a 2-½ hour clinic from 9:30-12:00 pm. Safety and fun is the key, with the morning being the best time to meet.

Please RSVP to this email if you will be making a reservation for January 7th.

Just a reminder:
Cost: Lesson $25. Equipment rental $15 (New shaped skis), and under age 70 lift ticket - $10 (free age 70 and over).

Additional information for the STARS Program, please call the Winter Sports School at 760-316-7861 or email bill_teague@mthigh.com or

STARS Wrap up for 2014

Hi STARS:
I want to thank each and every one of you that participating in our STARS clinics this 2014 season. This season will go down in our Mt High history books as one of the lowest snowfall years since the 70’s. We received a total of 25 inches of natural snow this season but we were able to make snow to enhance our mountain conditions.
As far as our STARS Clinics went we were able to have only 6 clinics but we averaged 47 STARS each week. Big THANK YOU to all of you that made it up each Wednesday.
We still need to continue to move our program forward so I will need your help. Please give us something “to glow on” (positive) and something “to grow on” (improve) so we can plan for next year. Your input is valuable so we can continue to plan for next seasons STARS Program.
Thanks for all your support this season and skiing and riding in the Senior Program. Our STARS Family will continue to be the BEST because of YOU!

Bill

STARS Update

Hi STARS:
Mountain High is closed for the time being, however there is a chance to reopen if we received new snow. I will keep you updated in any changes.

It has been fun this season with all of you STARS. Hopefully we will reopen and get a couple of STARS Clinics in before the end of the season.

Each year we have made some changes in the program based on your input. Please take the time and give us something to "glow on" and something to "grow on". This will give us your input to plan for next STARS season.

Hi STARS:
Just wanted to give you an update on STARS Program for this Wednesday, February 26thWe will have to cancel this clinic due to the lack of snow and Mt High has temporary closed the mountain and will reopen Saturday, March 1st..
We are anticipating from 6” and 16” from these storms coming at the end of the week. With the NEW snow we will be able to continue our operations and there will be skiing and riding for everyone.
So it looks real good for Wednesday, March 5th for our STARS Clinic. So EVERYONE continue to do your “snow dance” and I will update you on Saturday, March 1st on conditions and information on our next clinic.
Just thought I share a photo I took on February 20, 2005. This is the BullWheel Bar Grill and Children’s Sports Center. Can you see it?

Good Evening STARS:
Due to the extreme warm temperatures at Mountain High our snow has diminished to a point where it might be unsafe for our Senior STARS Program this Wednesday, February 19th. Therefore we are cancelling the STARS Clinic, and I will get back to you by Sunday to let you know about the STARS Clinic on Feb 26th.
Even though we will not be skiing/riding this week it will give the instructors time to develop new movement patterns to share with you on the next STARS Clinic.

Ski u soon…..

Hi STARS!

Great day at Mountain High for the 5th Senior STARS Clinic of the season. We taught 53 Seniors today in almost perfect conditions. Special THANKS to the snowmakers at Mt High which continues to do an excellent job. The snow was excellent today for our 53 Seniors and all of you seemed to have a great time. I know your instructors felt the day was fabulous too and so did I.

Our boot clinic this morning by Ron Parody gave you some special insights about how your boots should  fit and also how they will perform too. Great job, Ron!

Next Wednesday, February 12th will the our 6th Clinic of the season and our halfway point in the STARS program. Thanks to all of you who RSVP each week.

Don't forget to check out all the photos from today at http://seniorprogramstars.blogspot.com . We did have a great time today! Next week, we could have better snow conditions too. So make sure you do your "snow dance" so we can bring some fresh powder to our resort.

Please RSVP as soon as possible for Feb 12th.

Hi STARS:

Another beautiful day at Mountain High with 44 Senior STARS taking part in our 4th Clinic of the season. Snow conditions were very good today, despite all the warm weather we have had in the past couple of months.

A “BIG THANK YOU” to our Groomers here at Mountain High who keep the runs “Senior Perfect” for us on Wednesdays.

Another thank you to the 5 NEW Senior STARS that participated in our clinic today. In fact, we had a Senior today that is 87 years old! WELCOME to the New Seniors and Dick Kennedy too! Dick shared with me today, just because he is 87 doesn’t mean he can’t ski. His instructor told me he was really making some nice turns today! GREAT JOB DICK!

Don’t forget to check out the photos from today at http://seniorprogramstars.blogspot.com, Our 5th Senior STARS Clinic of the season will be Wednesday, February 5th at the West Resort. There is a chance of snow later in the week, so keep your fingers crossed… okay?

If you have any questions about the Senior STARS Program, please do not hesitate to contact me. Also, please RSVP for next Wednesday’s STARS Clinic.

Ski u later,

Bill
