What a fantastic day we had at our 6th STARS Clinic of the season! With 65 Seniors enjoying the warm sunshine and spring snow, it was truly a memorable experience. Once again, we're thrilled to announce that we sold out for the 5th consecutive clinic.

 

A warm welcome to the 8 NEW Seniors who joined our program! After a few introductory words, we wasted no time hitting the slopes. It was heartening to see all our Seniors smiling amidst the wonderful winter conditions today. Those who came out to ski and ride with STARS surely weren't disappointed.

 

Looking ahead, we're hopeful for some fresh snowfall (6-12 inches) this weekend to enhance our already excellent coverage on the slopes.

 

Skiers, remember to prioritize safety by getting your bindings checked each season. Your safety on the mountain and in our STARS clinic is paramount.

 

For evaluation, we invite you to share your feedback through our Glow and Grow initiative. Please email us with one thing we do well and one area where we can improve. Your input is invaluable to us.

MOnday Update- 5 slots left

I hope this Monday update finds you well. Our 6th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS CLINIC is fast approaching, scheduled for this Wednesday, February 28th at the West Resort.

 

Exciting news on the weather front: If you've been craving snow, your wish has been granted! We've experienced an incredible snowfall, over a foot of fresh powder blanketing the slopes from last Monday through last Wednesday. This new snow conditions are nothing short of fabulous. With a base ranging from 30 to 40 inches, Wednesday's STARS clinic promises to be exceptional! We will have blue skies and temps will be in the mid 40’s.

 

If you purchased for last week clinic (2/21) that was cancelled, and you haven’t email me to move your lesson to another clinic day, please do so ASAP. I need one day to process your request.

We have identified some Senior STARS who need to complete the liability form and show their ID to Leah at the table by the Reservation Center. Remember, this is a one-time requirement for the season. Your cooperation is appreciated.

 Greetings STARS,

 

As we approach our 6th Clinic of the Senior STARS Program on Wednesday, February 28th at the West Resort, we want to extend a friendly reminder. Over the past two months, we've been dedicated to ensuring your safety, maximizing fun, and honing your skills for better turns. We're excited to continue this journey with you and ensure another fantastic session this Wednesday. Don't forget to secure your lesson by Monday to join in!

 

The conditions at Mountain High have been absolutely stellar lately. With another foot of fresh snowfall and more on the horizon, we currently boast 38-50 inches of pristine powder. Take advantage of this winter wonderland! Also, swing by our retail store within the Big Pines Lodge for soft goods at great prices. Fantastic deals await you and your family, so seize the opportunity. And mark your calendars for the Spring sale for Season Pass starting in March!

Tuesday Weather Update

 HI STARS:

I trust this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. I'm reaching out with an important update regarding our upcoming 6th STARS clinic scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st at the West Resort.

 

As of now, Mountain High is blessed with an impressive snowfall accumulation of 36-42 inches, with more expected today and tonight. Moreover, a significant amount of rain is forecasted too into Wednesday morning. However, after careful deliberation with our staff it has been decided that asking our esteemed seniors to drive up under these challenging conditions wouldn't be in your best interest.

 

It's worth noting that Caltrans plans to implement chain control on Wednesday morning if there is snow or heavy rain making road navigation quite difficult due to the anticipated snow and rain. With your safety in mind, we've made the tough call to cancel the STARS clinic for Wednesday, February 21st. This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to prioritizing your well-being.

 

Furthermore, considering the forecast for rain and snow, we believe it's prudent to exercise caution for all participants.

 

For those who have already purchased a lesson for February 21st, we completely understand the inconvenience and are more than happy to accommodate you by rescheduling your lesson to another STARS clinic. Please take a moment to email me your preferred date, and we'll handle the rest.

Monday Update

Hi STARS,

 

Here's your Monday update for our 6th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS clinic happening this Wednesday, February 21st at the West Resort.

 

Exciting news on the snow front - we're looking at FANTASTIC coverage with 36-40 inches of snow. Fortunately, it seems we'll dodge the upcoming storm, forecasted for Today and Tuesday, so Wednesday's travel should be smooth. Nevertheless, it's wise to carry chains for added safety.

 

Weather  Report for Wednesday:

30 percent chance of snow showers before 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Plan to arrive at the West Resort by 8:15 to ensure you're punctual for your lesson. We'll be gathering at Bullwheel Grill.

 

Anticipate another fantastic day for our 6th clinic of the season.

Hello STARS,

 

Just a friendly heads-up regarding our upcoming SENIOR PROGRAM STARS 6th CLINIC on Wednesday, February 21st, starting at 9:00 am. We'll be gathering at the WEST RESORT.

 

Expect partly sunny skies with cold temperatures in the 40’s, so be sure to dress warmly. Our slopes boast excellent conditions with 40-48 inches of snow and impeccable corduroy.

 

To secure your spot in the STARS program for next Wednesday, February 21st, please ensure you've purchased your ticket by Monday. If you are NEW to the program you will have to sign a liability form for the lessons. Remember you will only have to do this once during the season.

Today's clinic was a delight, with abundant sunshine and just a sprinkle of clouds, making it our 5th Clinic of the season a memorable one. A total of 67 seniors joined us, enjoying perfect conditions on 4-5 feet of freshly groomed snow, courtesy of our dedicated groomers.

 

Looking ahead, we anticipate more snowfall Saturday night through Monday, setting the stage for another fantastic Seniors STARS clinic on 2-21-24.

Happy Monday! Here's a quick update for our 5th STARS clinic of the season happening on Wednesday, February 14th at the West Resort. 

 

Mountain High currently boasts 48-55 inches of snow, and the roads are open with no restrictions for Wednesday's clinic. Anticipate perfect conditions with clear blue skies and temperatures hovering around the mid 40s. It's shaping up to be an ideal day for some quality skiing and riding.

 

Please make sure to recall your instructor from the last clinic. This will streamline the grouping process, allowing us more time on the slopes.

 

Don't forget to arrive between 8:30 am and 9:00 am to check in with me. If you are NEW to the program you will have to sign a liability form for the lessons. Remember you will only have to do this once during the season.

Hi STARS,

 

Just a friendly reminder about our SENIOR PROGRAM's 5th CLINIC happening on Wednesday, February 14th, starting promptly at 9:00 am at the WEST RESORT. Happy Valentine's Day!

 

The weather forecast looks promising with blue skies and temperatures expected in the low 40s. With 51-66 inches of fresh snowfall, conditions are excellent for our 5th clinic, promising a day filled with fun on the slopes!

 

If you purchased for last week clinic (2/7) that was cancelled, and you haven’t email me to move your lesson to another clinic day, please do so ASAP. I need a couple of days to process your request.

 

For feedback, please take a moment to participate in our "Glow and Grow" evaluation. Let us know one thing we excel at and one area where we can improve by simply sending an email. Your input is valuable to us.

Important Update for 5th STARS Clinic on February 7th

 

Hi STARS:

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide an update regarding our upcoming 5th STARS clinic scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th at the West Resort.

Currently, Mountain High boasts an impressive 24-36 inches of snow, with more expected today and Monday.  Also a significant 2 feet forecasted throughout Tuesday into Wednesday morning. However, after consulting with our VP Resort Operations, we have decided that having seniors drive up under these conditions would not be in your best interest.

Please be informed that Caltrans will implement chain control on Wednesday morning, making the roads challenging to navigate due to the anticipated heavy snowfall. In consideration of your safety, we have made the decision to cancel the STARS clinic for Wednesday, February 7th. This precautionary measure aligns with our commitment to prioritizing your well-being.

Additionally, as we anticipate continued snowfall throughout the week, we want to err on the side of caution for all participants.

For those who have purchased a lesson for February 7th, we understand the inconvenience and are happy to accommodate by moving your lesson to another STARS clinic. Please email me with your preferred date, and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Reminder STARS Clinic - 2/7/24

 Hi STARS,

 

Just a reminder to all our Senior STARS about the upcoming 5th Senior Clinic on Wednesday, February 7th at the WEST RESORT!

 

Exciting news - we've had a fresh layer of snowfall, totaling 6-9 inches from Thursday into today, with the promise of more in the coming this next week. Be prepared for fantastic skiing and riding conditions! Recall the ski group you were part of last week, and get ready for smiles on your faces this Wednesday.

 

Keep in mind that the ski group assignments are flexible. If you feel the need to pick up the pace, we can move you to a faster group. Conversely, if you prefer a slower pace, feel free to discuss it with your instructor or me, and we'll make sure you have the best experience possible.

 

We will update everyone on snow and road conditions Monday afternoon. We want to make sure you are safe on Wednesday driving to the mountain. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me.
