STARS Clinic Cancelled for 3/1

  Hi STARS:

 

Dues to the impending storm (1-2 feet of snow) and potential road closures and inclement weather we will postponing our 7^th STARS Clinic and move it to March 8^th.

 

We want all Seniors to be safe and have fun so that is why we are moving the clinic to next week.

 

If you have purchased online you can use it next week or another STARS day. Just email me and I will move it to the day you choose.

 

More information will be going out this week to let you know how things are looking for next clinic.

 

Have a safe week and enjoy the wet weather we are getting, we sure need it.

Reminder STARS Clinic 3/1

 Good Afternoon STARS:

 

Just a reminder for our 7th Clinic of the Senior STARS Program on Wednesday, March 1st at the West Resort.  We have had a great time these past 2 months making sure you are safe, having fun and that have you learned to make better turns.  We want YOU to have a great time this Wednesday too, so make sure you purchase your lesson by Monday night.

 

It has been the BEST conditions here at Mountain High this past week as we have received over 2 feet of snow and more on the way. We have 36-50 inches of snow.

 

Please check out our retail store inside the Big Pines Lodge, as there are soft goods already on sale. You can receive great deals for you and your family. Don’t miss out!! Also, the Spring sale for Season Pass begins March 11^th.

What can I say about today as it looked like the Senior STARS had the Mountain High by themselves with blue skies and no wind. 

 

40 Seniors participated in our 6^th Clinic of the season.  With about 3-5 feet, yes 3-5 feet coming in the next few days we will be looking good for our next STARS clinic on March 1^st.

 

Coverage is excellent with all runs open, so make sure you come up again before our next clinic on Wednesday, March 1^st. 

 

Also, we had the privilege in welcoming 4 NEW seniors to our STARS program. Most of their comments were “can’t wait till next week”. And we can't wait to have you back too.

 

Wednesday , March 15^th we will have our Atomic Demo Day and our STARS luncheon will be March 22^nd. Pease mark your calendar.

 

Make sure you purchase your lesson by Monday night as I know we will sell out this coming Wednesday.

Monday Update for 2/22

Hi STARS:

 

Just a Monday Update for our 6^th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS clinic this coming Wednesday, February 22nd at the West Resort. 

 

Snow coverage is FANTASTIC with 16-28 inches of snow. Looks like we will be getting snow Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday so we will miss the storm Wednesday. The roads Wednesday should be open with no restrictions, but carry chains to be safe.

 

Plan to get at West Resort by 8:30 so you will be on time for your lesson. We will meet at Bullwheel grill.

 

The weather will be cold 28-30 degrees with a chance of light snow flurries with no accumulation, so make sure you dress warm and have your goggles. 

 

We will have another great day for our 6^th clinic of the season.  

 

Please purchase your lesson and lift ticket by Monday night as we have sold out each week.

Reminder STARS Clinic 2/22

 Hi STARS:

Just a reminder about our SENIOR PROGRAM STARS 6^th CLINIC Wednesday, February 22nd at 9:00 am. We will be at the WEST RESORT. 

 

We will have sunny skies and cold temps and it should be in the high 30’s. So make sure you dressed for colder weather. We have great coverage and corduroy is excellent.

 

Make sure you have purchased your ticket by Monday night so you are guaranteed a spot in the STARS program for next Wednesday, February 22nd

Reminder STARS Clinic 2/15

 Hi STARS:

Just a reminder of our SENIOR PROGRAM STARS 5^th CLINIC Wednesday, February 15th at 9:00 am. We will be at the WEST RESORT. 

 

We will have blue skies  and temps should be in the low 40’s.Our 5th clinic should have lots of snow and lots of fun!! We have 20-30 inches ,so coverage is excellent.

Tip of the Day-How to become a more advanced skier

Avoid too much extension at the beginning of the turn. If you're too upright, you risk losing contact with the snow. Stay lower and focus on moving from one foot to the other.

Another beautiful day at Mountain High with 62 Senior STARS taking part in our 4th Clinic of the season. Snow conditions were very good today, we can even describe it as spring conditions.

A “BIG THANK YOU” to our Groomers here at Mountain High who keep the runs “Senior Perfect” for us on Wednesdays.

Monday Update

Hi STARS:

 

Monday update for our 4^th Clinic in our STARS Program. Gorgeous Southern California weather is on tap for Wednesday. Sunny, and chilly with Santa Anna winds that has been forecasted, so Wednesday will be perfect for skiing and riding at Mountain High. Parking pass attached.

 

Don't be late…please…we begin our lesson at 9:30 am sharp. If you are not here to check in and get equipment etc you will be losing time in your lesson. It is difficult to find your instructor as they are skiing and riding all over the mountain beginning at 9:30 am sharp.

 

Liability for STARS lesson and ID  New Seniors will meet in front of the Bullwheel Grill at 8:30am, and will have to sign a liability form and show ID to prove they are over 50. You only have to do this once for the season.

We have a few Seniors who have not sign the STARS liability form and show their ID. Please do so on Wednesday.

Winter Sports Center (WSC) Check-In located at Top of the Bullwheel Express Magic Carpet. STARS area is where you get your Rentals and Lift Tickets. Reminder to arrive early as this process can take up 30 minutes. WSC Check In Area will be open at 8AM..

 

The weather will sunny with temperatures in the low 40’s. We will have another blue bird day for our 4^th clinic of the season.  

 

We still have slots available for Wednesday, so if you are planning to come to the clinic, please purchase your lesson, lift ticket online ,ASAP.

Reminder STARS Clinic 2/8

  Hi STARS:

Just a reminder Senior STARS that we have a 4^th Senior Clinic on Wednesday, February 8th at the WEST RESORT!!  

 

Just as I promised the snow conditions can’t get any better with all the NEW snow we have from last week. We have 20-30 inches of snow and we are looking to add more to that total this next week. So, make sure you remember what group you were in last week. This Wednesday should bring a lot of smiles to your STARS faces.

 

Remember the ski group you are in is very flexible. If you feel you need to move a little faster we can move you up to that group. Or if you want to move slower, talk with your instructor or myself and we will accommodate you too. We want you to have the BEST experience possible.

 

If you need any equipment skis or snowboards for this season, please give Steve Crane , or Chris a call, at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know I sent you and you are in the STARS Program at Mountain High. Please bring a copy of this email to verify you are in the program.

 Thank You STARS:

 

Senior STARS had plenty of sunshine and snow today in our 3rd clinic of the season. 

We had 68 Seniors take part in our lessons and we all had a fabulous time.

 

We had 9 NEW Seniors that added to our group today and from their comments they really were impressed with their instructor and our program. 

 

With the snow we received Sunday into Monday night and low temps the snow was magical. Seniors really enjoyed groom runs but I know some were skiing and riding off-piste and having a good time too.

 

This week and next week are ideal temperatures to make snow so with our excellent snowmakers we will have ideal conditions next Wednesday, 2/8.

 

Make sure you buy your ticket and lesson before Tuesday as we sold out Tuesday at 1:00pm.
