Hi STARS:

Just a reminder about our SENIOR PROGRAM STARS 1^st CLINIC Wednesday, January 11th at 9:00 am.

 

Snow conditions are excellent. We have 24-34 inches of snow and most runs are open and light crowds during the week. Perfect for our STATS clinic coming up in a few weeks.

 

Please purchase online all lift tickets, lessons and rentals. If you choose to purchase at the resort, you MUST purchase up at our Reservation Center at the top of the Bullwheel Express.  There you will receive your lift ticket, lesson ticket and rentals. I would suggest to buy online as we have sold out on many clinics.

 

* Please note: You cannot purchase at the main ticket window by the parking lot.

 

Just take the Bullwheel Express (moving carpet) up to the Ski School area and purchase at the Reservation Center outside the Bullwheel Restaurant and meet me to check in from 8:15 am to 9:00 am.

STARS Update # 4

Hi STARS:

 

All of you should be getting ready for January 11, 2023 for our first Senior STARS Clinic of the season. Can you believe it, it will be our 14^thyear for the STARS program.

 

Mt High is open with 24-32 inches of  snow. Condition are perfect for our Senior STARS Program

 

Cost for the program this year is $25 lift ticket, $40 lesson and $15 rentals. You will be able to purchase online in a couple of weeks.

STARS Update # 3

STARS UPDATE!!

Just a note to let you know it is getting that time of the year to pull out your skis/snowboard and get them tuned for the upcoming season. We are all looking forward to the Senior Program STARS beginning its 14th year!!

 

Mt High is open as of this week and Mother Nature really helped us to get started on a great ski and snowboard season. With 4 inches of fresh snow and with our great snowmakers, we have now 12 to 24 inches of fresh pack snow. Look for some time in the next week or so for the mountain to open up all trails. This will be a great snow season and I know you will have lots of fun in the STARS Program; 

 

All us here at Mt High are anxious for the season to begin! Please mark your calendars for January 11, 2023 for the first day of our STARS clinics.

 

Don’t forget your skis/snowboards tuned and waxed so you will be ready to go this ski season. If you need any equipment for this season, please give Steve Crane a call, at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know I sent you and you are in the STARS Program at Mountain High. Good Afternoon STARS:

THANK YOU... THANK YOU... THANK YOU!

What a day we had today! Beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures and the snow was soft but workable for all our Senior Ski and Snowboarders as we had 45 Senior STARS come out for our last clinic. All of the instructors, Seniors and myself, seemed to have another great time!

As I was skiing around to the different groups; there was a lot of skiing and riding today, which means there has been a lot of improvement with YOU Seniors during the 11 weeks of the STARS program.

Not only did we have a fabulous time on the snow, but we finished it off with a fantastic luncheon! A lot of photos were taken during the luncheon, and several gifts were given out to Seniors whose names were drawn from a hat. All photos can be found on the STARS blog

The Senior Program STARS has been lots of fun this season. We average 50 Seniors each week. Everyone should feel very proud of this accomplishment. Next season the goal is to add a few more instructors and then we can continue to grow the program. You STARS are great ambassadors for Mountain High. Please keep up the great work to get the word out for next season. First clinic is January 4, 2023.

Hi STARS: Just a Monday Update for our 11th SENIOR STARS CLINIC this coming Wednesday, March 23rd at the West Resort. The good news or the bad news, first. Let me share the bad news…..This will be the last STARS clinic of the season. We do have spring conditions so the snow is very good until noon especially upper mountain. But next week with all the heat, we will be losing snow so to be safe we will not be having our clinic on March 30th.  The GREAT NEWS! We will be having our End of Year Luncheon this coming Wednesday. I will also have some special gifts for you Seniors and all you have to do is enjoy the luncheon ($10.00) and leave everything up to me and the instructors. We will have great celebration for our 13th year!. On Wednesday, 3/23 at 9:15am we will have a brief update and then at 9:30 am we will take our group photo and then will test the groomed corduroy. The weather will sunny with temperatures in the 50’s. Snow coverage is very good and we will have another blue bird day for our 11th and last clinic of the season.!  Hi STARS:

You never surprise me in this program. All of you are terrific! What great conversations we had today after the clinic. A BIG THANK YOU to Richard Blei for the tuning clinic this morning. I did notice that some Instructors and Seniors received a tune by Richard as well.. 

Our 10th Clinic of the STARS program was a great success. We had 40 Seniors take part in our clinic with 4 NEW Seniors joining in today. The snow was soft but we had a great time. Upper mountain was very good and we made first tracks on Conquest. You can't get any better than that at Mountain High.

With today’s Senior count we are averaging 51 Seniors each week. It goes to show you, "If You Build It, Seniors Will Come". Yes, our hats are off to all our Seniors these past 10 weeks! All of you have done a great job with all the snow conditions from powder, packed powder and spring conditions. Starting Saturday night into Sunday we are on storm track.. Let's keep our fingers crossed and we may be getting some snow which will make our next week’s clinic the BEST! You won't one to miss it!

We are also having a THANK YOU luncheon for all the Seniors on March 23rd too. The instructors and I want to thank you for all the  Senior clinics you have attended this season and we hope you will have achieved with not only a better way to ski and ride but an appreciation for Mountain High Resort too.

We need all the Seniors that have been a part of our season to come next Wednesday, March 23^rd.. Please buy your lesson by Sunday night as I need to give a lunch count to Food and Beverage on Monday. There will be a $10.00 charge for the Mexican buffet. Let's all come together and celebration our 13^th year of the Senior Program STARS. I do have some gifts that will be given out during our luncheon too.

Monday Update

 Hi STARS:

 

Just a Monday Update for our 10th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS CLINIC this coming Wednesday, March 16th at the West Resort.  Parking pass is attached.

 

The GREAT NEWS! Spring conditions are excellent, so Wednesday the STARS clinic will be fantastic!

 

Bullwheel grill will be open from 8-10am for your coffee, hot chocolate and pastries. Please come and take part in some refreshments before your STARS clinic. 

 

STARS Luncheon will be next Wednesday, March 23^rd at 12:00pm.  It will have a Mexican theme. There will be prizes to give out during the luncheon too. The cost for the luncheon is $10. What a way to salute our Senior Program STARS 13^th season.

 

Also, remember our Spring Season Pass Sale is going on till May 1^st. Buy a season pass $499 and use it this season and next season too. Renew $449

 

The weather will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 50’s. We will have another blue bird day for our 10^th clinic of the season. 

 

Wednesday, Richard Blei, one of our  Seniors Ski instructors will be doing a short clinic at 9:00 am on “How to Tune your Ski or Snowboard”. You won’t want to miss this clinic. It will be located outside the Bullwheel grill patio area..

Reminder STARS Ckinic 3/16

Just a reminder for our 10th Clinic of the Senior STARS Program on Wednesday, March 16^th at the West Resort.  

 

It has been spring conditions up here this week but the temps are low at night so the snow is very good especially in the morning. This Wednesday we will have many corduroy runs to ski and ride.

We Thank You STARS

 Thank You STARS:

 

Great day for our 9^th STARS Clinic of the season. We had 47 Seniors skiing and riding on a corduroy day at Mountain High.

 

We introduced 5 NEW Seniors to our program and after few words we hit the snow. Seniors were all smiles as spring conditions greeted our 47 Seniors today. STARS that came out and skied and rode were not disappointed. Hopefully we will receive some new snow tomorrow to add to the snow we have, so we can get back on track with our 50 + Seniors each clinic.

 

Don’t forget to get your bindings check each season. We want you to be safe on the mountain and in the STARS clinic. Next week Richard, one of your Seniors Ski instructors will be doing a short clinic at 9:00 am on “How to tune your ski or snowboard”. You won’t want to miss this clinic. It will be located outside the Bullwheel grill patio area..

Monday Update

Hi STARS: 

Just a Monday Update for our 9th SENIOR  STARS CLINIC this coming Wednesday, March 9th at the West Resort. Your parking pass is included.

The Bullwheel grill will be open for you from 8:00am to 10:00 am if you want some coffee, hot chocolate or a Danish. Big thank you to Food and Beverage to open the grill so you seniors can have a refreshment before you hit the snow.

Bright skies and corduroy turns are in store for you this Wednesday at our STARS clinic. Thanks to last week’s storm conditions are great with 16-45 inches of snow. Make sure you purchase your lesson and lift ticket so you can rip some fresh corduroy.  

You can expect temps in the mid 30’s when you arrive and it will warm up to the mid 50’s by noon.

The 2022-2023 Season Pass sale is ON! Purchase next winter’s Season Pass and ski/snowboard the rest of this season FREE.

We are in the beginning stages of our End of Year Luncheon that will be held at the Big Pines Lodge on March 30^th. More information will be coming.

Also, our Adaptive Program here at Mountain High is having a fundraiser on March 27^th with a dinner, music and raffle. It will be from 4:30-9 pm at the The Wrightwood Place.( Old Sunrise Church). The cost is $35.

Reminder STARS Clinic

Good Afternoon STARS:

Just a Friday reminder for our 9th STARS clinic of the season on Wednesday, March 9th at the West Resort. 

We have 16-45  inches of snow and conditions are very good. Looks like we will be receiving 6-8 inches of New snow today and tomorrow. The weather will be in the low 40’s on Wednesday so make sure you bundle up and we will another great day.

Make sure you have purchased your ticket Monday night as we have sold out each week. that way you are guaranteed a spot in the STARS program for this next Wednesday, March 9th.

Thank You STARS - 3/2/22

 Hi STARS,

What a busy day we had in our 8^th Clinic of the season. We welcome 51 Seniors today and 4 NEW seniors to the STARS Family.

Seniors were welcomed with morning coffee and refreshments this morning  sponsored by Michele Roy, CMA, CFO  Senior Vice President of Mountain High Resort. As we were checking in the seniors to our program everyone had the opportunity to Demo Atomic and  Salomon skis from the State Rep Dean Kease. Also assisting him was Steve Crane the owner of Sports LTD where Seniors can purchase these skis at a STARS discount. A BIG THANK YOU goes to Dean and Steve in bringing Atomic and Salomon skis to our STARS Program.

After our group photo at 9:30 am we hit the snow and what I saw today were happy Seniors and instructors. When STARS are safe and having fun, it makes teaching so much easier.

 It was a beautiful day with blue skies and it did warm up to 58 degree by noon but the snow was just right to test those 2023 demo skis and receive great coaching from our Senior STARS instructors.

Next clinic will be March 9^th at the West Resort. With NEW snow coming Friday into Saturday of this week we will be able to add to our total of 16-45 inches of snow. This snow should bring us around 6-8 inches of  NEW snow so you can see that next Wednesday will be a great day to ski and ride in the STARS Program.

9^th STARS Clinic will be Wednesday, March 9^th! Remember to purchase you lesson by Monday night as we were sold out again for the 8^th week in a row.

ThanK YOU STARS

 Hi STARS:

What can I say about today as it looked like the Senior STARS had the Mountain High by themselves with all the NEW snow.

44 Seniors participated in our 7^th Clinic of the season.  With 3-5 inches of NEW snow the STARS “were ripping it up today”!! Around 11:30 am beautiful blue sky and lots of sunshine greeted the STARS as we finished out the 2 1/2 hour clinic! 

Coverage is excellent with all runs open, so make sure you come up again before our next clinic on Wednesday, March 2^nd.

Also, we had the privilege in welcoming 4 NEW seniors to our STARS program. Most of their comments were “can’t wait till next week”. We can't wait to have you back too.

Next Wednesday we will have our Atomic Demo day and also a video project will take place.

We have sold out each week so make sure you purchase your lesson by Monday Night.
