Reminder STARS Clinic-2/25/26

 Hi STARS 🌟

Just a friendly reminder about our SENIOR PROGRAM STARS 6th CLINIC on Wednesday, February 25th at 9:00 am at the WEST RESORT.

Well… what can I say about this week besides WOW? ❄️
Mountain High received a whopping 28–38 inches of fresh snow from three back-to-back storms. That’s not a dusting — that’s “where did my car go?” kind of snow!

For Wednesday, 2/25/26, we’re looking at cloudy skies with temps in the high 40s — so dress for cooler weather (yes, high 40s is still officially “brisk” in our world). With 3+ feet of new snow, conditions are shaping up to be absolutely spectacular. Coverage will be beyond excellent — we’re talking “mid-winter postcard perfect.”

Almost all runs are open, so if you get the itch (and can get up the hill safely), come enjoy this beautiful snow before our clinic. Consider it research. 😉

Friendly reminder: please purchase your lesson by Monday night. I have a feeling this one may sell out — powder has a funny way of motivating people!

To pre-purchase online, click here:
https://shop.mthigh.com/senior-stars

Important Reminder:
If you purchased a lesson for the canceled 2/11 or 2/18 clinics, please email me ASAP to move your lesson to another clinic day. I need a couple of days to perform my behind-the-scenes scheduling magic (which mostly involves coffee and spreadsheets).

Rest up, stretch those ski legs, and maybe practice a few powder turns in the living room… carefully. We want enthusiasm — not furniture damage.

Monday Update

Hi STARS 🌟
Here’s your Monday update for our 5th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS clinic scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th at the West Resort.
Now for the exciting (and slightly dramatic) snow report…
We are looking at FANTASTIC snow coverage thanks to all this fresh powder. Unfortunately, it appears we did not dodge the incoming storm. In fact, the storm looked at us and said, “Oh yes we are here.”

Forecast for Wednesday:
❄️ 100% chance of heavy snow before 4pm
🌡 High near 35°
💨 Southwest winds 45–50 mph
🏔 Snow levels down to 3,000 feet

Translation: Great for snow globes… not so great for senior travel plans. Roads could be messy, visibility low, and while we all love adventure, we prefer the kind that ends with hot chocolate — not roadside stories.

Therefore, we are canceling Wednesday’s clinic to stay on the safe side.
The mountain will be there. So will we. And we’d like all of you there too — in one piece!

Important Reminder:
If you purchased a lesson for the canceled 2/11 or 2/18 clinics, please email me ASAP to move your lesson to another clinic day. I need a couple of days to perform my behind-the-scenes scheduling magic (which, as you know, requires coffee and concentration).
Thank you for your continued support. You truly are the brightest STARS on the mountain.

Ski you later! 🎿

Reminder STARS Clinic 2-18-26

 Hi STARS 🌟

It’s time for a friendly (and slightly energetic) reminder about our 5th SENIOR PROGRAM STARS Clinic this Wednesday, February 18th at 9:00 am at the West Resort!

Weather Report:
Cloudy skies, a chance of snow, and temperatures in the low 30s — which we officially call “refreshing.” With the NEW snow arriving Monday and Tuesday, coverage will be excellent. Yes… it’s going to look like real winter again. Break out those extra layers and those winning smiles!

I’ll share the best and most up-to-date weather conditions provided by Mt. High in Monday’s update.

Important Reminder:
If you purchased a lesson for last week’s (2/11) clinic that was canceled and haven’t emailed me yet to move your lesson to another clinic day, please do so ASAP. I need a couple of days to perform my behind-the-scenes scheduling magic.

Equipment Needs?
If you’re in need of gear this season, give Steve Crane a call at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know you’re part of the STARS Program at Mountain High — that’s almost like flashing a VIP badge (but you still have to carry your own skis).

Sports LTD
22642 Ventura Blvd
Woodland Hills, CA 91364
818-225-7669

Call ahead and set up an appointment with Steve or Chris, and bring a copy of this email so they know you’re one of our shining STARS.

 Meeting Spot:
I’ll be at the Bullwheel Grill between 8:15 am and 8:45 am. Please arrive no later than 9:00 am so we can organize groups and make announcements. (In other words… save me from having to track you down on Chair 1.)

Please purchase your lesson before Monday at midnight to guarantee your spot. We’re planning for snow, smiles, and strong groups!

Important Update: STARS Clinic on February 11th Was Canceled

 Hi STARS,

Well… Mother Nature has decided to host her own clinic this week — and unfortunately, it’s a wet one.

Mountain High is sitting on 18–20 inches of snow, but with significant rain expected today (Wednesday), we’ve decided that asking our amazing senior athletes to ski or ride in soggy conditions isn’t the smartest move. As much as we love your enthusiasm, water skiing is not part of the STARS curriculum!

Your safety always comes first, so we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our February 11th clinic at West Resort.

If you’ve already purchased a lesson, no worries — we’ll happily reschedule you for another STARS clinic. Just send me an email with your preferred date, and we’ll take care of the rest.

The good news? There’s a chance we could receive 12+ inches of snow beginning Sunday night. Now THAT sounds more like it!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Looking forward to seeing you back on the slopes — in much more “senior-perfect” conditions.

Ski u later,
Bill

Monday Update

 Good Afternoon STARS,

Happy Monday! Here’s your official (and highly anticipated) update for our 4th STARS Clinic of the season, happening Wednesday, February 11th at the West Resort.
Good news right out of the gate: no parking pass needed—consider it our first win of the day.

Current Mountain Conditions:

·       Snow Depth: 18-20 inches

·       Road Conditions: Open with no restrictions—your car will be just fine

·       Weather Forecast: Cloudy skies, low-40s—perfect for skiing, riding, and not freezing your nose off

Important (but painless) Reminders:

·       Please remember your instructor from the last clinic—this helps us get grouped faster and spend more time sliding downhill instead of standing around chatting (we can chat later).

·       Check-in: 8:30–9:00 AM with me

·       New STARS: First-timers will need to sign a liability form and show ID—one-time deal for the season

·       Lift Tickets & Lessons: Must be purchased online by Monday at midnight (the internet sleeps, but the deadline does not):
Mountain High STARS Program
https://shop.mthigh.com/senior-stars

·       Equipment Rentals: Available at the Main Ticket Booth near the parking lot for $15

Bring your smile, your energy, and maybe that favorite pair of ski socks—because this Wednesday is shaping up to be another great day on the mountain.

Looking forward to skiing and riding with you all again soon!

Ski you soon,
Bill 🎿

Reminder STARS Clinic-2/11/26

 Hi STARS,

Just a friendly reminder about our SENIOR PROGRAM – STARS 4th CLINIC coming up Wednesday, February 11th at the WEST RESORT.

 Time:

·       Meet at the Bullwheel Grill between 8:15–9:00 AM

·       Please arrive no later than 9:15 AM so we can get you into your group and make announcements (snow waits for no one—even seniors 😉)

🌤 Weather & Snow Report:

·       Cloudy skies

·       Temps in the low 40s (jacket weather, not freezer weather)

·       18–20 inches of snow with excellent coverage
Bottom line: plenty of snow and plenty of fun!

🎿 Need Equipment?
If you need gear for the season, give Steve Crane a call at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know you’re in the STARS Program at Mountain High and that I sent you—I know he’ll take great care of you.
Please bring a copy of this email and be sure to call ahead and make an appointment with Steve or Chris.

Sports LTD
22642 Ventura Blvd
Woodland Hills, CA 91364
📞 818-225-7669

📝 Important Reminder:
Please purchase your lesson by Monday night at midnight to guarantee your spot. Thanks to all the Seniors who have already signed up—you’re making this easy on me!

Tip of the Day – How to Become a More Advanced Skier:
Avoid too much extension at the beginning of the turn. If you’re too upright, you risk losing contact with the snow. Stay a bit lower and focus on smoothly moving from one foot to the other. (Think smooth… not pogo stick.)

Looking forward to another great day on the mountain.

Ski U Wednesday,

Bill

Thank You STARS

 Hi STARS,

What a great day for our 3rd STARS Clinic of the season! We had 22 Seniors out skiing and riding at Mountain High on a warm, beautiful day with very good snow conditions—proof once again that Seniors know how to pick the best days to be on the mountain.

We were excited to welcome 3 NEW Seniors to the program, and after our outdoor session, we wasted no time heading out to the snow. Spring conditions showed up just in time, and judging by the smiles, our STARS were definitely not disappointed (and nobody asked where the golf clubs were).

Everyone skied and rode with enthusiasm, style, and just the right amount of wisdom. A big thank-you to all who came out and made the day such a success.

With a little luck, we’ll be able to make some new snow this week to add to what we already have, so we can get back on track with 50+ Seniors each week—because clearly, the mountain can handle it.

Below you’ll find our group photo from today, and past photos can be found on the STARS blog:
http://seniorprogramstars.blogspot.com

Our next clinic is February 11th, and we’ll send out reminder update on Friday night.

Have a great rest of the week…

Ski U Wednesday,

Bill

Thank You STARS

 Hi STARS,

A wise man once said, “If you build it, they will come.” Well, our STARS definitely came through again, with a great turnout for our 2nd STARS Clinic of the season — proof that a good program (and good snow) attract4 good people!

Thanks to our fabulous snowmaking crew, snow conditions improved nicely over the weekend, giving us excellent coverage for today’s clinic. Our skiers and snowboarders wasted no time, cruising all over the mountain and showing once again that age is just a number… usually followed by a smile.

We were excited to welcome new seniors into the STARS family, and Mother Nature cooperated perfectly with blue skies, sunshine, and just enough cool air to keep things comfortable. With nighttime temperatures dropping and possible snowmaking this weekend, we’re shaping up for another great Senior STARS clinic on Wednesday, February 4th.

Help us keep the program growing by spreading the word to your family and friends about our 50-and-better STARS program — the more, the merrier!

Be sure to check out today’s photo at:

So yes… if you build a great program, Seniors will come.
Thank you, STARS, for another fabulous day. Looking forward to many more!

Thank You STARS

 Hi STARS,

What a fantastic first day of the STARS Program! We were thrilled to welcome 26 seniors as we kicked off our 17th season—what an amazing way to start the year.

Everyone arrived at our meeting spot in front of the Bullwheel Grill, where we introduced our instructors and I shared a few thoughts about the upcoming clinics. Our Senior Vice President, CMA, CFO  Michele Roy also joined us and spoke about the strength of our program, noting how large and successful it is compared to similar programs across the country. At 9:30 a.m., we gathered for our STARS group photo, then split into ski and snowboard groups and headed out to enjoy the snow.

The feedback from both seniors and instructors was extremely positive, and the weather and snow conditions couldn’t have been better. Coverage was very good, and it looks like we may even be able to make more snow later this week.

We were also happy to welcome several new seniors to the program—welcome aboard! A big thank-you to everyone who joined us. I have a great feeling this is going to be an outstanding Senior STARS season, and I hope to see you all back on January 28th.

A quick reminder to please purchase online as early as possible. We cut off sales on Monday night at midnight for the weeks clinic, and walk-up availability cannot be guaranteed without an advance reservation.

I’ve attached our group photo and included the link to our Senior Program STARS Blog  and Facebook here:

Lastly, please pray for snow!

Reminder STARS Clinic 1-21-26

 Hi STARS,

We’re excited to remind you that our first Senior STARS Clinic is coming up on Wednesday, January 21st at the West Resort!

The forecast is looking great — temperatures will be in the low-50s, we currently have 12–14 inches of snow, and conditions are very good. With additional snow making expected next week, Wednesday is shaping up to be a fantastic day on the mountain!

As you know, we had to cancel last week’s clinic due to terrain conditions that were not ideal for a senior program. Your safety is always our top priority, we didn’t want to risk anyone having an accident. Thank you for your understanding — we truly appreciate it.

Parking

Paid parking is available at the resort, but a parking pass is sent when you purchase your clinic, and then you will be able show it to the attendant, you will not need to pay. I’ll be sending out a new parking pass each week.

Liability Form & ID

Good news — this is now a one-time process for the season.
When you attend your first STARS clinic, please:

  • Sign the liability form
  • Show your driver’s license (to verify age)

Our staff will be located upstairs near the Bullwheel Grill. Once completed, you won’t need to do this again for the rest of the season.

Registration & Purchase

To register and pre-purchase online, please use the link below (highly recommended, as clinics often sell out):
https://shop.mthigh.com/senior-stars

Please note: The online purchase will be cut off at midnight, Monday, 1/19/26

Meeting Location

We’ll meet at 8:15 AM outside the Bullwheel Grill up the magic carpet by the Children’s Sports Center.

RSVP

Please RSVP so I can ensure we have enough instructors to meet everyone’s needs. A big thank-you to those who have already replied!

Have a wonderful weekend — we can’t wait to ski with you soon!
