Monday Update

 Hello STARS:

 

This is a Monday update for our 3^rd senior clinic taking place on Wednesday, February 1st at the West Resort. The snow conditions are excellent with packed powder and groomed slopes since we received 5-8 inches of snow.  We will have lots of  powder and fresh corduroy to ski and ride on. All roads should be cleared with no restrictions but you should always carry chains just in case. Parking pass is attached.

 

New Seniors  will meet in front of the Bullwheel Grill at 8:30am, and will have to sign a liability form and show ID to prove they are over 50. 

 

We have the following Seniors STARS that need to complete the liability form and show their ID to Leah at the table by the Reservation Center. Remember you only have to do this once during the season.

The weather will be sunny with temperatures in the low 40's. There are still slots available for Wednesday, so participants should purchase their lesson and lift ticket as soon as possible.

 

Tip of the Week

How to fix your stance. The first step in fixing your stance is understanding your mistakes. Swinging arms, skiing with your hands near your pockets, and rigid arms are common mistakes that hurt your skiing. 

I am attaching a very interesting article called “Senior Skiers and the Fear Factor by Elissa Slanger, Ph.D.  “With the right attitude we can enjoy a long skiing and snowboarding life and many happy turns”.

Thanks STARS

Hi STARS:

 

All I can say about today is “WOW”! What a day we had today! Deep blue skis, temperature in the low 40’s, snow was excellent and 64 Seniors took part in our 2^nd STARS clinic of the season. 

 

After check in, and a few announcements were made, we welcomed 9 new Seniors to the STARS program, and then I went over the reservation protocol and STARS liability sign off. 

 

We were sold out again and this makes the 2^nd week in a row. We had a few late Seniors and we were able to get them to their class but sometimes it is difficult because of all the terrain. Please arrive around 8:15-8:45 am so you can check in, get your rentals and get  with your instructor.

 

At 9:30 am we hit the snow and took our group photo, thanks to Caleb Lee .

 

Next STARS clinic is February 1, 2023.

Monday Update for 1/25 Clinic

Hi STARS:

 

Just a Monday Update for our 2^nd SENIOR PROGRAM STARS CLINIC this coming Wednesday, January 25th at the West Resort.  

 

Snow conditions are very good with 20-30 inches of snow and lots of corduroy to ski and ride on. We are making snow almost every night.

 

We will meet in front of the Bullwheel restaurant at 8:30am.  We will have you get with your instructor as a group so we can develop the goal for Wednesday’s lesson, then at 9:30 am we will take our group photo and we then will test the fresh corduroy.

 

Liability form and ID   Last season you had to sign a liability form and upload your driver’s license to show you were over 50. Now you only have to do it once . You will sign the form and show us your ID on the first time you attend a STARS clinic to our staff by the Bullwheel Restaurant .You will not have to do it again for the rest of the season.

Winter Sports Center (WSC) Check-In located at Top of the Bullwheel Express Magic Carpet. STARS area is where you get your Rentals and Lift Tickets. Reminder to arrive early as this process can take up 30 minutes. WSC Check In Area will be open at 8AM..

 

The weather will sunny with temperatures in the low 40’s. We will have another blue bird day for our 2^nd clinic of the season.

Reminder STARS Clinic 1/25

Good Morning STARS:

Thank You STARS

 Hi STARS:

What a great first day of the STARS Program. We welcomed 65 Seniors to our 14^th year of the STARS Program.  Everyone got to our NEW meeting place in front of the Bullwheel Restaurant and we introduce the instructors and I shared a few words from our Vice President, CFO Michele Roy. At 9:30 am our STARS picture was taken and we divided into ski and snowboard groups and off we went to rip the snow.

 

Comments from our seniors and instructors were very positive and the weather and snow was our greatest asset today. We had great coverage and it looks like we will be able to make snow later on in the week. 

 

We also had the privilege in meeting some wonderful NEW Seniors to our program. Thanks to all Seniors who came today. I know this is going to be a great Senior STARS season. Hope to see all of you on January 25th! 

 

Due to our large registrations for the past week we had to cut off sales on Tuesday afternoon. Please buy online ASAP as we had 60 Seniors bought online  for today.

 

If you do not make a reservation and walk up, I cannot guarantee there will be a spot for you for the STARS clinic.

Monday Update

 

Reminder STARS Clinic January 18th

 Hi STARS

Reminder for our 1st Senior STARS Clinic on Wednesday, January 18th. We will be at the West Resort and the temperature will be in the mid 40’s. We have 12 to 24 inches of snow and conditions are very good. Looks like Monday and Tuesday we should be receiving more snow so Wednesday should be great!. 

Last week we canceled our clinic due to conditions that were not suitable to have a seniors clinic. We always look at the safety first and we want all of you to be safe and due to the two days of rain we did not want anyone to have an accident.

Mt High Audit sent each Senior who purchased for 1/11/.23 an email and in that email asked you to respond with the date you want to attend. This way it goes into our system and I have a copy as well.

We also had a problem sending out an email to seniors that had a .net in their email. We are working on this so if you have a friend that usually comes to our STARS clinic and has a .net at the end of their email you might want to give them a call to see if they have received this information. 

Parking: There is paid parking at the resort but if you download this attachment and show the parking attendant you will not have to pay. I will be sending you a new parking pass each week.

We will be meeting at 8:15 am outside the Bullwheel Restaurant up the magic carpet by the Children Sports Center. You must show me your driver’s license and sign a liability form for the season.

If you do not purchase online and you want to purchase at the resort, all tickets and lessons and rentals MUST be purchased up at our Reservation Center at the top of the Bullwheel Carpet. There you will receive your lift ticket, lesson ticket and rentals.

Recommended that you purchase online as we sell out many clinics.

* You cannot purchase at the main ticket window by the parking lot.

Reminder STARS Clinic 1-11-23

 Hi STARS:

 

Just a reminder STARS that we have a Senior Clinic on Wednesday, January 11th at the WEST RESORT!! Don’t forget we will be up at the Bullwheel Café at 8:15 am to check your driver’s license and sign a liability form for the season.

 

We have received 6 inches of new snow from these past storms. We now have 14-24 inches of snow and conditions will be fantastic for Wednesday’s clinic.

 

Make sure you book your lesson online as we sell out on a regular basis. Remember our lifts do not begin to run till 9:00 am.

STARS Update #6

 Hi STARS:

Just a reminder to get ready to tackle a NEW Season in the 2023 STARS Program on Wednesday, January 11^th at the West Resort! All of the instructors are ready and will provide outstanding clinics for you this season. 

 

We will have partly cloudy skies  and temps should be in the high 30’s.Our first clinic should have lots of snow and lots of fun!! We have 20-30 inches so coverage is very good. So, make sure you bring a smile on your face and we will have a great time.

 

Parking:  There is paid parking at the resort but if you download this attachment and show the parking attendant you will not have to pay. I will be sending you a new parking pass each week.
