Hi STARS:

Well it is time again to get our Senior Program STARS going for 2014!! We will begin the Senior Program on January 8, 2014. We will determine by January 3^rd if we are at the East or West Resort. Mother nature and our snowmakers have given us a great start on our ski and snowboard season. We have lots of snow to have a great time! If you have any questions about the program, please contact me.

So for 2014 we would like to officially "Welcome" you to the Mountain High Seniors Ski/Snowboard program (STARS). Last year we averaged 54 STARS each week. Looking forwarding in adding many NEW Seniors this season.

Remember we have online registration process. This way you will never have to get in another line again to purchase your lesson or lift ticket.

But YOU MUST FIRST GO TO THE VIP WINDOW AT THE  RESORT to begin the process. After you have shown your ID you will be given an Express Pass ($5.00 charge) to be used at the next clinics. After this initial set up at the ticket window you will be able to purchase your lesson, lift ticket and rentals from your own computer at home. All seniors who have an express card already & were previously registered DO NOT NEED TO COME TO A TICKET WINDOW. You can purchase the first lesson online. You do not need to buy another express card.

Just remember our program offerings are every Wednesday at 9:00 am at Mountain High beginning on January 8, 2014. We will begin with introductory comments, an indoor clinic and then a 2-½ hour clinic from 9:30-12:00 pm. Safety and fun is the key, with the morning being the best time to meet.

Cost: Lesson $25. Equipment rental $15 (New shaped skis), and under age 70 lift ticket - $10 (free age 70 and over).

Mt High Today!!

Just came back from the Mt High and the snow is terrific! Mt High is making snow on all the runs we use in the Senior STARS Program. There were no crowds too, so it makes it easy to get some early season runs in and getting those legs back in ski shape. We are expecting 3-6 inches of new snow tonight and tomorrow so if you decide on coming up make sure your dress for it, as it was 20 degrees when I was out on the snow this morning! Welcome Back STARS!!

Just a note to let you know it is getting that time of the year to pull out your skis/snowboard and get them tuned for the upcoming season. We are all looking forward to the Senior Program STARS beginning its 5th year!!

Mt High is ready to open as of this week but we need to let Mother Nature take its course. Look for sometime in the next week or so for the mountain to open. This will be a great snow season and I know you will have lots of fun in the STARS Program; I will guarantee it!

All us here at Mt High are anxious for the season to begin! Please mark your calendars for January 8, 2014 for the first day of our STARS clinics.

Don’t forget your skis/snowboards tuned and waxed so you will be ready to go this ski season. If you need any equipment for this season, please give Steve Crane a call, at Sports LTD in Woodland Hills. Let him know I sent you and you are in the STARS Program at Mountain High. I know he will take care of you.

Some Exciting News!

Hi STARS:

Hope your summer has been filled with some exciting adventures and your getting ready for the ski/snowboard season. I have spoken with a few of you and they tell me they are already getting themselves in shape for the winter. All of us need to remember to get those legs in shape before the STARS Program begins in January. Hope the rest of your summer and fall will be filled with excitement and you are getting ready too for our 5^th year of the Senior STARS Program.

I have some GREAT news about our Mountain High Season Pass sale for this year. Mountain High as formed an alliance with 11 other resorts for 2013-2014 . STARS 3/27/13

Our last Senior STARS Clinic was a great time for all. We had 38 Seniors take part in our 12th Clinic of the Season. Even though the snow was not the BEST we had a great time especially at the luncheon. There were 55-60 of us celebrating a fabulous season sponsored by Food and Beverage Department. What is really amazing this is the 4th year of our program and we are averaging 52 Seniors each week. Just think where we will be after next year, 65?

A BIG THANK YOU to all the Seniors and Instructors surprising me with a token of their appreciation. I am very humbled and honored to be a part of this remarkable team.

Reminder STARS 12 Clinic 3/23/13

 Hi STARS:

Reminder for our 12^th STARS Clinic of the season. This will be our last STARS clinic and I hope you will join us for a great day and celebration! After the clinic we will have our Thank YOU luncheon for you, Senior STARS.

Please RSVP by Saturday so I can give an accurate count of those who will be attending the luncheon.

This season has been the BEST so far as we have just finished our 4th year. We are averaging 54 Seniors each week and I can speak for all our instructors that we had a super time working with each and everyone of you during these past 12 weeks. The comments you have given me on your evaluation are going to continue to move our program forward for the 2014 season.

STARS - 3/20/13

Hi STARS:

What a tremendous day we had in our 11th clinic of the season for the Senior Program STARS. 39 Seniors participated in our clinic and we had cloudy skies and spring snow. Next Wednesday, March 27th will be our final clinic of the year. You will not want to miss out on this one! We will have a luncheon catered to a Mexican theme with tostadas, soft tacos, beans, rice, salad and flan. Beverages will be provided as well. Make sure you make the 12th STARS Clinic next Wednesday at Mountain High. 

Please RSVP by Saturday so I can give our Food and Beverage a count for the luncheon.
